CreativitY

Innovative learning to help nurture the young minds into becoming tomorrow’s innovators

We work with teachers and parents to create innovative and creative educational programs

Bcreativity is a UK-based charity spearheaded by a previous primary school teacher from South East London who had a dream to empower disadvantaged children in Uganda.

Bringing more than 30 years of experience and inspiring children from developing nations a chance to find their strengths and talents through creativity and imagination.

Having taught in her native country Uganda and also taught in the UK, she was able to bring together her skillset to produce the best of both experiences and offer the children a more well-rounded education.

Within the community, she has been able to accomplish the mission statement for BCreativity trust by providing a programme and a center where its ethos is accomplished.

PROJECTS

Two Bridges School

Basena Community Center

In February 2015 Harriet and John took on the enormous task of re-establishing the Two Bridges Primary School in the Kakiri Wakiso District, a long term project. Using experience from The Baseno Agro Creativity Centre plus developing Fabulous Phonics with Ruth Moyler amazing results have been achieved in just the first 20 months. John says“Two Bridges community School is a challenge but very rewarding, when you see the children blossom like flowers it makes it all worth while, one is inspired to keep going.”

Along with her partner John Senteza, Harriet Namusoke collected toys and books for 8 years and established the Basena Agro Creativity Centre in Kampala in April 2013 with the ambition of encouraging creativity and appreciation of the environment in schools and the community at large. "Play nurtures creativity and learning through play is fantastic,"says Harriet,"Children are playing and learning at the same time and this is something I really want to strengthen among Ugandan schools. Learning does not only take place in the classroom."

Celebrating the end of the year with our overseas family

The end of the academic year (Nov/Dec 2016) was memorable as we had our overseas family to celebrate with us. Ruth, Nick and Jill made these last days very special. Ruth gave the most wonderful training of how to teach reading (phonics) and Nick led these amazing workshops in leadership skills. Jill – nicknamed smooth operator – was there to make things happen. The training was held off-site at Kamunye village near Mpigi.
